746. Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of artists and those working in the entertainment industry that were in receipt of the pandemic unemployment payment at €350 a week in June 2020; and the number in September 2020 on the reduced rate of the payment. For the month of June 2020 a total of 8,785 people working in the Arts, Entertainment and Recreation sector were in receipt of at least one pandemic unemployment payment at the standard rate of €350.

The most recent figures for September 1st 2020 show that 5,032 people from this sector were still receiving this payment, with 1,486 people receiving the lower rate of €203 and 3,546 people receiving the higher rate of €350.
