Deputy Bríd Smith asked the Minister for Transport the details of the road passenger transport operators based in counties Cavan, Monaghan, Westmeath, Leitrim and Longford that received payment from his Department in respect of the carriage of free travel pass holders in each of the years 2015 to 2019 and the individual routes in respect of which payment was made. As Minister for Transport I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport.

The Free Travel Scheme comes under the remit of the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection and therefore I or my Department have no function in relation to the issue raised by the Deputy.
