521. Deputy John McGuinness asked the Minister for Social Protection if a State (contributory) pension will be approved for a person (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [28499/20]
View answerThe person concerned reached pension age on 22 June 2020 and applied for their State pension (contributory) on 24 July 2020. They were awarded the maximum rate of pension with effect from their 66th birthday. They were notified in writing of this decision and arrears due on 14 August 2020.
I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
