Deputy Denise Mitchell asked the Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications if local authorities have protocols in place for dealing with oil spills; if so, the local authorities concerned; and his plans to bring forward a harmonised and agreed response from his Department in relation to the way in which local authorities manage oil spills. As the Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications, I have no function in this matter.   Any arrangements and protocols that may be in place with the Local Authorities to deal with oil spills would be a matter for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
