View answerOfficials in my Department have contacted Kerry Education and Training Board (KETB) about this matter. KETB have informed my Department that the welding course is due to commence in Tralee on 7 December 2020. It has been decided that this course can only proceed with ten learners, instead of the usual number of fourteen, in compliance with health and safety measures concerning Covid-19. To ensure the safety of all participants Kerry ETB are unable to increase the number of learners beyond those ten places. KETB have informed my officials that the applicant in question was placed fourth on a reserve list and that the next available welding course is scheduled to take place on 16 January 2020.
