Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science the estimated cost to allow students from Northern Ireland to continue to access the Erasmus+ programme; if the cost includes financial support for colleges to host more Erasmus students from across Europe; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The estimated cost for facilitating the continued access to Erasmus mobilities by higher education students from Northern Ireland is approximately €2.1m per year. The question of funding incoming students does not arise, as they are funded by their own authorities.
