Deputy Johnny Guirke asked the Minister for Education when the new model of SNA provision will be released by her Department in view of the fact that the National Council for Special Education is declining to accept applications from schools for additional or emergency special needs assistant support pending the release of the new model of SNA provision by her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The arrangements for the allocation of SNAs for mainstream classes for the 2021/22 school year are currently under review. An announcement on the matter will be made as soon as possible.
