175. Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Taoiseach the number of legal cases brought against his Department in each of the past five years and to date in 2021; and if he will provide details on the nature of these cases. [37818/21]
View answerThe Department has identified three legal cases which have been brought against my Department during the period in question. All three involve proceedings brought in relation to decisions made by my Department on foot of requests received under the Access to Information on the Environment Regulations. For completeness, the Department has sought confirmation from the Office of the Chief State Solicitor that there have been no other cases taken in that period and will forward any additional information to the Deputy in due course.
