120. Deputy John Lahart asked the Minister for Health the number of medical cards as of 30 September 2021; the number of general practitioner cards on the same date; and the number for each type of card issued on a discretionary basis on that date. [48464/21]
View answerAccording to the latest data available from the HSE Primary Care Reimbursement Service (1st September 2021), 1,563,946 individuals hold eligibility for a medical card, of which 173,915 were provided on a discretionary basis and 523,926 individuals hold eligibility for a GP Visit Card, of which 39,154 were provided on a discretionary basis.
