View answerThere are currently 2 waste to energy plants in operation in Ireland. In addition, three cement kilns accept solid recovered fuel (SRF) derived from waste for co-incineration at their plants. Further details are available from the Environmental Protection Agency at the following link:

I understand that a number of other facilities are in the process of seeking planning and licensing approval from the relevant statutory authorities.
