866. Deputy Marian Harkin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the status of the compensation package that he committed to when he met with farmers whose lands had been damaged and or destroyed by the Shass mountain landslide which occurred almost 20 months ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is working to develop a package of measures to assist the affected farmers and landowners. Any such measures will have to be consistent with the Public Expenditure code and with the state aid rules.
