Deputy Bríd Smith asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if we will examine the possibility of Ireland and the European Union initiating a refugee programme for Tibetan refugees who are currently in India but who are facing appalling conditions with little prospect of safely returning to their homelands soon; if he will support a European Union response to their plight and an offer of sanctuary in the European Union; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
