Deputy Sorca Clarke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will support a request by an association (details supplied) for a national register of farm and forestry contractors by his Department in association with the Revenue Commissioners; and the engagement he has had with this body on this issue to date. My Department has no legal basis upon which to establish and maintain a register of farm and forestry contractors. However, the sector could decide to self regulate and establish a register of members in its own right.
