127. Deputy James O'Connor asked the Minister for Transport the details of the installation cost of the new average speed camera system on the M8 and if his Department has carried out a cost-benefit analysis prior to the installation of the system; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Transport Infrastructure Ireland have confirmed that no average speed camera system has been installed on the M8, nor is there currently any plan to install such cameras.  I refer the Deputy to my response to his question 21093/22 regarding the installation of average speed camera system on the M7.
