Questions (61)

Colm Burke

Question:

61. Deputy Colm Burke asked the Minister for Transport if consideration will be given to implement a policy similar to that in the United Kingdom in which car garages with capacity to carry out car tests can do so in order to tackle the lengthy delays in obtaining a national car test; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The operation of the National Car Test (NCT) service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority and I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply.

I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 51
