906. Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Health the number of dentists who submitted claims under the dental treatment services scheme for each month in 2022 to date, by CHO and LHO in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [37440/22]
View answerThe HSE have advised that details of the number of dentists who submitted claims under the Dental Treatment Services Scheme (DTSS) for each month in 2022 to date are available by LHO and have been provided seperately in tabular form.
Please note that these figures relate to claims made for the previous month. Not all dentists holding a DTSS contract make a claim in any particular month. In this regard, these figures are subject to the following caveats:
- Not all dentists are active on the Scheme in any given month due to sickness/leave;
- A dentist may have missed the deadline for submitting claims in a given month;
- Many dentists submit only claims once every 2-3 months;
- More rarely, a dentist may have recently left the scheme and has yet to notify the HSE.
