View answerThe Social Welfare Appeals Office functions independently of the Minister for Social Protection and of the Department and is responsible for determining appeals against decisions in relation to social welfare entitlements.
The table below sets out the number of appeals following refusal of an application for carers allowance received in 2019, 2020, 2021 and from January to the end of June 2022.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
