Deputy Mark Ward asked the Minister for Health , further to Parliamentary Question No. 956 of 12 July, the number of non-HSE inpatient services provided to persons who suffer from mental health difficulties that are not registered with the Mental Health Commission, by CHO area in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. No inpatient mental health service (known as an 'approved centre'), be it run by the HSE or otherwise, can operate in the State without first being registered by the Mental Health Commission as per Part 5 of the Mental Health Act 2001.
