Glanworth Castle is a National Monument under the National Monuments Acts 1930 – 2014, in the ownership of the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage since 26 January 1979. The OPW is responsible for the conservation and maintenance of the Castle in line with our statutory functions with respect to National Monuments.

Nearby, Glanworth Mill is in private ownership and OPW does not have any role in the up-keep or maintenance of the mill.

The OPW understands that the property owner of Glanworth Mill is carrying out some repairs and alterations at present.  As the property is in private ownership and on private lands, there is no public right of way for access to the Mill.
