Written answers

I can confirm to the Deputy that representations on behalf of Long Covid Ireland were received and responded to by my Department in September 2021, April 2022 and most recently, last month. As previously indicated, I have responded directly to the most recent request from Long Covid Ireland.

The HSE continues to implement the interim Model of Care to provide Long COVID services nationally and to develop the service to ensure that patients’ needs are met. I understand that the HSE is engaging with a range of stakeholders to inform service development, and that colleagues there have also engaged with Long COVID Ireland.

The service being put in place will remain agile and responsive. Development of the service will continue based on learnings from the clinics, new and emerging evidence nationally and internationally, and engagement with stakeholders, to ensure care is in place for all who need it.
