Deputy Jennifer Carroll MacNeill asked the Minister for Social Protection if her Department will provide support for a person (details supplied); and if she will provide an update on any outstanding applications or appeals that the person has with her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Social Welfare Appeals Office functions independently of the Minister for Social Protection and of the Department and is responsible for determining appeals against decisions in relation to social welfare entitlements.

I have asked the Chief Appeals Officer to respond directly to the Deputy on this matter.
