The issues that have arisen in this case are related to the assignment of an incorrect PRSI Class. This occurred when the individual concerned who had previously been paid as a Home Tutor (S Class PRSI) took up a role as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) and should at that time have been assigned to A Class PRSI.
Staff working in the Payroll Section of my Department have been in contact with the Department of Social Protection (DSP) on the SNA's behalf, as the DSP records need to be amended in order to regularise matters. We have also been in contact with the SNA directly to update them on progress. I am hopeful that this matter will be resolved in the coming days.
