526. Deputy Johnny Guirke asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if any projects under his remit are on hold due to capital funding pressures; if he will indicate the projects, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12627/23]
View answerThe Department of Foreign Affairs was allocated €25 million for Capital Expenditure in the 2023 Revised Estimates for Votes 27 and 28, in line with the National Development Plan. An additional sum of €2.25 million was carried over from 2022. The Department’s capital allocation is used primarily for the purchase and construction of properties overseas to support Ireland’s global interests and partnerships, for the ongoing development of the Department’s global ICT infrastructure, for the enhancement of Passport Service systems and for the purchase of official vehicles.
There are no capital projects on hold due to capital funding pressures.
