Deputy Brian Stanley asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if Enterprise Ireland appoints nominees to boards of companies in which it holds equity; the average number of boards that an Enterprise Ireland nominee sits on; and the largest number of boards upon which any one Enterprise Ireland nominee sits (details supplied). Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment

Enterprise Ireland’s policy is not to take more than a 10% ordinary shareholding in a company. As such, being a small minority shareholder, Enterprise Ireland’s shareholder agreement does not provide for the right to take up a Board position. Enterprise Ireland’s position and rights are protected under their terms of their shareholders agreement with the company.
