Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Health if he made the decision to include a book (details supplied) on the HSE developed “Relationships and Sexuality Education 1” reading list for children as young as 12 years of age; and if not, who within the HSE or his Department made the decision. The HSE offer supports to the Department of Education and its agencies and aegis bodies in terms of resources for educational curricula, including RSE (Relationships and Sexuality Education).

As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the deputy directly, as soon as possible.
