Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Transport the up-to-date position regarding plans to link the Tralee to Fenit greenway with the Listowel to Limerick greenway via Ardfert, Abbeydorney and Lixnaw; the up-to-date timeline for the completion of the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerAs Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for overall policy and exchequer funding in relation to Greenways. In line with Section 32 (2) of the Roads Act 1993, the planning, design, and construction of individual Greenways is a matter for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), in conjunction with the local authorities concerned. Investment in Greenway projects is also subject to the requirements of the Public Spending Code and necessary statutory approvals.
