Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Education if she, and the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, will meet with a person (details supplied) as a matter of urgency with the aim of resolving the issues that have prompted their hunger strike. View answerThe Minister has offered to personally engage with the person concerned. The Minister is committed to providing supports to survivors of residential institutions. There has been ongoing engagement from Senior Officials in the Department with the named individual and this will continue. Furthermore, in the context of advancing proposals for the future supports for survivors of residential institutions, there will be engagement between the Department and Minister with the Consultation Forum of which the person concerned is a member.
