Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media if she will list each local authority which currently employs an Arts officer; the annual salary of each officer; and the portion of the salary and the office’s operations funded by the Arts Council, by the local authority directly, or by a third source of funding. View answerI have no statutory function in relation to the appointment of Local Authority Arts Officers or indeed to the terms and conditions of such appointments. Local Authorities come under the remit of my colleague the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage. I am advised that many Local Authorities have employed Arts Officers and that these local authority officials work closely with my Department as members of Local Authority Culture and Creativity teams which work with the Creative Ireland Programme.
