View answerElectric vehicle charging bays on public roads and car parks are specifically reserved for recharging electric vehicle batteries. It is an offence to park or stop in these bays for any other purpose and a driver who chooses to park a petrol, diesel, or fully-charged electric vehicle in such a bay is liable for a fixed charge of €80, rising to €120 if not paid within 28 days.
