459. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will outline the due diligence and background checking that was undertaken in respect of the hiring of a person (details supplied) by her Department; and if the person remains an employee of her Department. [25877/23]

As the Deputy may be aware the recruitment and employment of staff as civil servants across Government Departments is a day to day matter for each individual Department and the Public Appointments Service. I have no function in the matter.
