Deputy Francis Noel Duffy asked the Minister for Education to seek detail from the NCSE as to how many functional vision assessments visiting teachers are completing assessments on blind and vision impaired students per annum for the past three years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerMy Department provides funding to the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) for the provision of the visiting teacher service for children who are deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired.
As the management of the visiting teachers service is the responsibility of the NCSE, I have referred the matter raised by the Deputy to the NCSE to respond directly to the Deputy.
