Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Rural and Community Development whether it is intended to tender for one or two ferry contracts to an island (details supplied) later in 2023; the consultation that will take place with the island community in relation to this; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerSubmissions made by the island community and its representatives to my Department on many aspects of the service, including on how best to deliver the service, are currently being assessed by my Department.
I can assure the deputy that my Department will continue to engage with the island community concerned so that a service that meets their requirements is published in the upcoming tender document.
