Deputy Mattie McGrath asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the reason only grade 1 conservation architects are considered eligible under the required qualifications of the national built heritage conservation officer under the Planning and Development (Built Heritage Protection) Bill 2022; the reason building conservation accredited surveyors, which is equivalent to a grade 1 architect, are not considered eligible for the role of the national built heritage conservation officer; if he will review this matter and amend the Bill accordingly; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
