Deputy Jim O'Callaghan asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of businesses in each county or local authority that made successful applications under the Covid-19 credit guarantee scheme launched in September 2020 to provide loans to SMEs and small mid-caps until 30 June 2022; and the estimated total value of the low-cost loans in each county local authority area, in tabular form. View answerThe Covid-19 Credit Guarantee Scheme (CCGS) was launched in September 2020 and provided loans to SMEs and small Mid-Caps until 30 June 2022. No further loans were approved after the closing date. The scheme provided vital access to lending facilities for a wide range of sectors and supported the economy in the context of the coronavirus outbreak. 9,857 loans for a value of almost €709 million were drawn under Covid-19 Credit Guarantee Scheme.
The table below lists the number of businesses in each county that successfully drew down loans under the CCGS between September 2020 and 30 June 2022, and the total value of the low-cost loans in each county.
