865. Deputy Pauline Tully asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of people with a declared physical, intellectual and learning disabilities and people with psychological or emotional conditions who are currently employed by HSE, in tabular form. Part 5 of the Disability Act 2005 details the obligations public bodies have to promote and support the employment of persons with disabilities. The minimum statutory employment target for persons with disabilities to be employed in the public sector is currently at 3%.

This will be increasing from 3% to 6% by 2025 as outlined in the recently enacted Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) (Amendment) Act 2022.

The matter has been referred to the Health Service Executive (HSE) for response to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
