Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Justice the number of Bills prepared by her Department in the 33rd Dáil to date; the number and title of those Bills that included a Regulatory Impact Assessment; the title of the RIAs published by her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The preparation of Regulatory Impact Assessments (RIA) is an important element of the legislative process and presents an opportunity that my Department takes seriously. Of the 27 Bills prepared and published by my Department since 27 June 2020, 19 RIAs were prepared, 5 of which were published. As the Deputy will be aware, RIAs are not required in relation to all legislation.
