Written answers

With the exception of the Department headquarters in Dublin, Áras Mhic Dhiarmada, which is held by the Minister on behalf of the Social Insurance Fund, all buildings and property occupied by the Department of Social Protection, are owned or leased by the Office of Public Works. The same applies to the agencies under our remit: the Citizens Information Board and the Pensions Authority.

Neither the Department nor its agencies engage in the acquisition of land or buildings, through purchase or lease. The Office of Public Works is responsible for the delivery of office accommodation to meet the operational needs of Government, including the Department of Social Protection and can provide details of all buildings owned or leased.
