Deputy Thomas Pringle asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth whether Tusla has estimates for the number of children involved with social work services who may be on the foetal alcohol spectrum, given that foetal alcohol spectrum disorder is the leading known cause of preventable intellectual disability in the world; and if he will make a statement on the matter. FASD is not a matter that falls within the remit of specialist/complex disabilities. This is a matter for my cabinet colleague, the Minister for Health.
