298. Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to provide an update on the steps she is taking or plans to take with respect to the use of the National Stadium by an organisation (details supplied); if she or officials from her Department have engaged with the organisation as part of efforts to investigate the use of the National Stadium by the organisation; the basis for her concerns in this matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. There is no legislative basis for me or my Department to intervene in the manner requested. This is a matter for the National Governing Body (NGB) concerned, in this instance the IABA (Irish Athletic Boxing Association). The IABA is an independent, autonomous organisation and neither I nor my Department has any role in decisions made by the IABA regarding use of any of their facilities including, in this case, the National Stadium.
