Officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs have been in contact with the solicitor of the citizen in question and remain available for further engagement.
The Department of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Assistance Charter (www.dfa.ie/travel/assistance-abroad/consular-assistance-charter/) sets out the assistance my Department can provide to Irish citizens in difficulty overseas.
