Deputy Jackie Cahill asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications if an allocation of funding has been made to Waterford County Council for the clean-up of plastic on a property (details supplied); how much funding was allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department provided funding of €739,544.35 to Waterford City & County Council to remediate the site in question. Following a tender competition, the remediation works commenced in November 2021 and completed in July 2022.
