Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media if her Department or any body under the aegis of her Department, has facilitated in-person or remote briefings on any issue by organisations (details supplied) from 2020 to date; if so, the topic discussed; the fees paid to the organisations for these briefings; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerMy Department was established in its current configuration in September 2020. I am advised that one meeting was held with each of the organisations to which the Deputy refers. Both meetings involved a presentation to the independently chaired National Counter Disinformation Strategy Working Group on disinformation. The meetings were held on 24 March and 24 November 2023. No fees were paid.
Regarding bodies and agencies under my Department's remit, these are operational matters for the agencies themselves.
