195. Deputy Emer Higgins asked the Minister for Transport if his Department will consider an awareness campaign to promote the importance of walking on the right side of the road for pedestrian safety, especially in rural areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [55958/23]
View answerUnder the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the promotion of public awareness of road safety matters. Given its responsibility in this regard, I have referred the question to the RSA for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response is not received within 10 days.
