Deputy Ivana Bacik asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the number of persons who have exited homelessness accommodation and were funded by his Department in each month from January 2019 to December 2023; the number who were minors; the number who were single persons; and the number of exits by families with children. View answerMy Department’s role in relation to homelessness involves the provision of a national framework of policy, legislation and funding to underpin the role of local authorities in addressing homelessness at local level. While responsibility for the provision of accommodation for homeless persons rests with individual local authorities, the administration of homeless services is organised on a regional basis.
My Department publishes a detailed quarterly performance report on homelessness, based on data provided by regional lead local authorities. The report includes details of individuals exiting State-funded emergency accommodation arrangements that are overseen by local authorities and is provided on a regional basis.
