Deputy Maurice Quinlivan asked the Minister for Health if flu vaccines for the 2024/2025 season will be available for those aged 2 to 17 years through participating pharmacies, as they were for 2023/2024; if not, if they will be administered directly by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. For the 2024/2025 flu season, it is intended that the flu vaccine will be available free of charge, through participating GPs and pharmacies and by HSE mobile vaccinator teams, to older adults, individuals in specified at-risk groups and this approach will ensure that those most vulnerable to the effects of influenza will have access to the flu vaccine without a charge.
