17. Deputy Paul Donnelly asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Defence if he expects to put out a contract for the tender for a new Government transport military aircraft before the end of Quarter 3 this year. [18230/24]
View answerThe Department of Defence is proceeding with a tender competition to acquire a new mid-sized jet aircraft for Ministerial Air Transport, to be procured under the Defence and Security Directive 81/2009 and in compliance with the Public Spending Code.
The competitive bidding process commenced with the publication of a contract notice on Friday 17th November 2023 on the Official Journal of the European Union platform and the intention is that this process will be completed this year.
