All live animals being imported or exported must travel with a health certificate validated by an official veterinarian specifying that the animals fulfil the basic animal health requirements as set out in relevant EU regulations.

My Department does not retain information on veterinary certification for imported sheep prior to 2017. The table hereunder provides data on the quantities of live sheep imported annually for the years 2017 to 2023 inclusive.
