I recognise the key role school leadership in improving educational outcomes by creating a positive school climate and environment as well as motivating and empowering educators and learners within their school communities.

Budget 2024 has also provided for an additional 500 posts of responsibility (Assistant Principal II) at both primary and post-primary level for the 2024/25 school year.

A revised Post of Responsibility Schedule has issued to schools informing them of the POR allocation from September 2024.

The key factor for determining the level of staffing resources provided at individual school level is the staffing schedule for the relevant school year and pupil enrolments on the previous 30 September.

Staffing for the 2025/26 school year will be finalised early next year and schools will be advised of the allocations for that year at that stage.
