Jobseeker's Allowance is a payment to people who are unemployed but are available for and genuinely seeking full time employment. It is a means-tested payment, so a person's income must be below a certain amount in order to qualify for a Jobseeker's Allowance payment.
For the week ending 12th May 2024, there were 13,719 young persons under 25 years of age receiving Jobseeker's Allowance. Of these, 9,680 were in receipt of a rate of €141.70, 1,053 were in receipt of a rate of €232 and 2,986 were receiving another rate.
