The Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions will this afternoon continue its consideration of petitions received from members of the public.
20 November 2012
The Committee is scheduled to examine petitions on the following topics tomorrow:
- Allowing overseas Irish to vote;
- The costs of bringing a complaint to the Employment Appeals Tribunal, and
- Height restriction on trees in suburban gardens.
Cathaoirleach of the Committee Peadar Tóibín says: “The petitions system, established in September, for the first time provides for members of the public to set the parliamentary agenda. With 46 petitions received to date, Committee Members have been encouraged by the level on interest in the petitions system. Tomorrow, we will have the opportunity to consider a number of petitions on a diverse range of topics related to public policy.”
